Another Set of African Black American Paper Doll
Today’s subject will be a bit different than usual and honestly it’s hard to come by. It’s a paper doll set! Yes, I know it’s girly but no doubt many would love to have this and its a rare one too. Since my focus is getting varied stuffs on paper art and craft so please enjoy it.
It’s a good news for doll collectors because there is someone out there who takes her time designing, creating and managing diverse collection of paper dolls. She’s Rachel with her paper doll blog, Paper thin Personas. I have not taken my time to fully explore the site but believe me, there are tons of interesting stuff specially on paperdoll.
The image is just one of the paper dolls that you can find there but there are actually more, such as white, black and even asian. Interesting about them – some clothes are based on real clothes. Some were costum made, but others were inspired but specific clothes like from certain designers or costumes in certain countries etc. So please read the post for more detail while sharing your passion and support the author. At least you will know that the paper doll carries some meaning or history.
The author has prepared 2 types of pattern, in pdf and image png format. So you can choose which one you prefer and the links can be found at the beginning of the post at her blog. Just use the banner the banner below to visit the site and get your copy, or use this link, black paper doll to check the rest of the sets.
It kinda reminds me, there is another african paper doll that I have shared in my previous post. The link was broken but i have it fixed now. It’s different that the one i’m sharing today. It’s more cartoonish but it has its own charm. So please check it out too.
