Self-made Paper Lantern for Chinese New year

Greetings, everyone! Before I go on further, I want to take this opportunity to wish to all the Chinese folks and people, where ever you may be, a very prosperous ‘Gong Xi Fa Chai !!’. Actually I was looking for some good paper crafts for Chinese New Year’s theme for quite a number of days. Found an Ox papercraft since this year is the year of the ox, but unfortunately, I’ve forgotten the site. How silly of me ^^;;; So as a replacement, I will just post this tutorial I found on a self-made lantern. It’s actually for kids: years 8 and up. And do not forget to check my┬ápost on paper lantern origami tutorial.

This tutorial is prepared by Sherri Osborn in her familycraft section. Yea, There are a lot more tutorial can be found on the site and I’ll make sure to make review about their work pretty soon. For this lantern, you only need to prepare a piece of paper, pencil, ruler and stapler. Then you are ready to follow the tutorial. Yes, step by step tutorials with image. And after a second thought, I think this lantern paper craft also look good for chinese new year decoration. Ok, Learn how to make chinese lantern for chinese new year here.

I used to play a lot of paper and plastic lantern when I was small. It came in so many different shapes and figures, and was definitely a whole lot of fun! :)

Happy crafting and Gong Xi Fa Chai !
